Frank Detomello is a slovenly zookeeper, who catches a cold right after swallowing a germ-ridden egg. The inside of his body is known as the "City of Frank". An unlikely hero of a policeman white blood cell by the name of Osmosis Jones works as a member of Immunity. But with that germ-ridden egg comes a mortal danger: Osmosis discovers Frank has really contracted a villainous and black-hearted deadly virus known as Thrax who arrives and plotting to ultimately overheat Frank's body killing him from the inside out, in 48 hours. White blood cell cop Osmosis Jones, and cold tablet Drixorial - team up to fight the invading viruses intent on taking over the City.

About the speaker:Dr. Jorge N. Artaza is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Internal Medicine at Charles Drew University. He received his Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Dr. Artaza has had a productive career in the fields of Clinical Hematology and Immunology, at various prestigious institutions in Buenos Aires.
In 1999, Dr. Artaza was awarded the “Rene Thalman Fellowship”
supported by the University of Buenos Aires and the Division of Endocrinology at Charles Drew University.
Between 2003-2006 he was a postdoctoral fellow in the division of Endocrinology, directed by Dr. Shalender Bhasin, and developed a number of studies investigating the role of hormones in the maintenance of muscle mass and lately the role of vitamin D on the prevention of fibrosis. His work has been presented in numerous scientific meetings and published in the main journals in the field. Since July 2004 Dr. Artaza has been also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, where he teaches General Biology and Immunology.
